What's the devil for?

Most attitudes can be challenged without there having to be evil behind the process of trying to challenge it. But a few cannot. Those tend thus to go unchallenged to the extent evil development is not prevalent. Thereby a force of longstanding  evil occasionally becomes a necessity.

There can, though, be excaggeration(s), about how often and how much such a solution is needed. On the other hand, there can also be exaggerated belief in the innocence of those who stand unchallenged as long as no challenges are based on evil processes. In some contexts, it seems, the latter exaggeration necessitates the first-mentioned one.

It is very precarious, thus, for God to deal with those who escape being challenged unless there is evil development about. Strangely, few religions escape those believers who tend to hide their potential wrongdoings by using attitudes that God cannot challenge without satan.
